Goals
- Liver transplant, resection, thermal ablation, embolization, radiotherapy, and systemic therapy are all potential treatments for liver cancer and the coordination and appropriate patient selection for these modalities requires strong lines of communication between different specialties. This project aims to bring together KGH physicians from different departments who treat patients with liver cancer to improve the delivery of care for this growing patient population through efficient referral pathways and optimization of resources.
Outcomes
- Improved coordination of clinical services, appropriate patient selection for various treatment modalities, and referral process improvement. Patients will benefit from improved efficiency in their care pathway. Physicians will benefit from improved engagement and collaboration with one another. The facility will benefit from reducing redundancies from inappropriate referrals.
